Flight to Philidelphia

Our day started early today when the alarm rang at 4:30am.  Finally wrenched ourselves out of bed, showered and drank our lemon water.  Finished the final packing and then the door bell rang!  It was our wonderful chauffer, Jeff, there to pick us up!  He treated us to VIP service dropping us off at the curb and then meeting us just past security.  Upon arrival at PDX, we checked our bags and then headed straight for shots of wheat grass!!! Mmmmm.... what a wonderful and delicious way to start our trip!   Then Jeff (who has worked at PDX for over 20 years) let us in on a great little secret about how to get through security faster at PDX.  Wow!  IT went so smooth.... If anyone would like to know, just ask and we'll share.  Our flight was pretty smooth overall.  The time past quickly as Tiffany and I read through her entire year book from Fountainview!  Wow!  That was so fun :-)  Toward the end of the flight, we experienced some pretty severe turbulence due to some thunderstorms in the area but the captains were able to navigate through it safely and we landed on time!

Experiencing east coast culture is already an adventure!  I'm noticing they're all about business here.  Less smiles and more aloof attitudes... I keep wanting to say, "Hang loose everybody! I just wanna have fun! "  We enjoyed a wonderful lunch that we had packed for the trip--kale salad, salad rolls, tortillas, hummus and kale chips.  Then we walked a couple miles through the airport to find another, you'll never guess.... JAMBA JUICE!!! Yum!  What a refreshing dessert we shared--peach perfection and strawberry whirl smoothies :-)

Here's some sites we enjoyed along the way:  Columbia River, Hells Canyon, Mississippi River, Lake Michigan, Rocky Montains and lots of farm land.  Some fields of yellow interspersed between the fields of green was a lovely site as well... we're guessing they were sunflowers :-) And yes, as you can see, Grant's wish did come true... we did make it to the Liberty Bell!  A large airport replica made from legos!!! So cool!  The weather wasn't very inviting for an actual site seeing trip over to the real deal... Thunder storms and pouring rain... so we decided to hang tight in the airport where it is dry.  About an hour ago we were notified that our flight to Lisbon is about an hour late.  So, here we sit trying to get caught up on a little rest.
